Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ!

Time surely has flown hasn't it?  It seems it was only yesterday that we were decorating the Chrismon Tree in our sanctuary.  And here we are, approaching the season of Lent.  The prevalent question on Ash Wednesday is "What did you give up for Lent?'  This year, instead of giving something up for Lent, how about doing something different?  Instead of giving up candy for Lent, why not give up that fancy coffee you pick up each morning?  And...put the money aside for a donation to the local food pantry?

With Spring around the corner (I hope!)  it may be time to clean out those closets.  Take those old clothes that are still in wearable condition to the local thrift shop.  Likewise, sort out those "things" you don't use any more and bring them to "The Bread of LIfe" for their rummage sale.

Still another idea...instead of giving something up, give of your time.  Help with Meals on Wheels or the local food pantry or thrift store.  Visit a nursing home.  Instead of making Lent a time when you sacrifice something, how about taking time to help someone else?

Something to think about...
